VR is a new breed of video technology that allows viewers to actually interact with the environment. Filmed with special cameras, the viewer can, by simply turning their head, look around the set from 180 to a full 360 degrees, and in some instances, make things “happen” by looking at objects they want to take action with. This is very different from the previous wave of 3D as it allows viewers to feel like they are actually on the set or in the room with the performers and interact with the environment.

I am seeing a steady stream of producers now exploring VR production, and many are already live, offering VR via mobile phone apps. Wasteland.com is now experimenting with this type of production in which a member can feel physically in the dungeon with the BDSM performers. Angie, my wife, and director of Sssh.com will continue to produce VR movies for women using dynamic storytelling. As technology advances, we hope to make the VR experience feel more and more immersive.

At this time, I would urge people interested in this to keep an eye on tech news to see how it develops before going out and buying an expensive headset.
