Director Angie Rowntree’s new critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic thriller Invictus leads the pack

BOSTON (November 20, 2018) – Sssh.com, the female-led, female-focused indie adult film studio, today announced its politically charged movie, Invictus, and its founder and director, Angie Rowntree, have received eight nominations for the 2019 Xbiz Awards. Invictus is an erotic foray into a dystopian near-future, depicting the story of scientist Jane Darling (played by Delirious Hunter) who is determined to combat the social and environmental decay into which the world has descended.

“I would like to express my deepest thanks and gratitude for these nominations. Being recognized by Xbiz is a rewarding validation.” says Angie Rowntree, founder and director of Sssh.com. “Their ability to nominate films that are outside the traditional “porn” box (art house films, if you will) is extraordinary. I thank them for their vision.”

The full list of nominations includes:

-Couples-Themed Release of the Year: Invictus

-Best Actress — Couples-Themed Release: Delirious Hunter, Invictus

-Best Actor — Couples-Themed Release: JoeyDotRawr, Invictus

-Screenplay of the Year: Invictus

-Best Cinematography: Invictus

-Best Music: Invictus

-Director of the Year – Feature: Angie Rowntree

In addition to top accolades for Invictus, Sssh.com is also nominated for Female-Produced Site of the Year. Their films embrace real sex and real couples with the substance of mainstream Hollywood movies. It’s porn reimagined.

Invictus has also recently received praise from a number of film critics. According to XCritic Reviewer Patrick Parker Invictus is "a pornographic film that pushes the boundaries of plot and dialogue to be on par with mainstream filmmaking”,  adding “its bleak future serves as a warning and packs a thinly veiled political punch, a bold and rare move for a XXX film.”

Peg Aloi (formerly of The Boston Phoenix) characterizes the movie as a "dark-toned post-Trumpian fable" with a "'Walking Dead' vibe" that employs "gorgeous cinematography and top-notch love scenes."
