FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BOSTON (December 10, 2015) - Continuing its strong run of nominations for various industry awards, Sssh.com's Gone - an emotional erotic piece - is nominated for Best Drama at the 2016 AVN Awards.
"It's very gratifying to have Gone generate such a positive response" director Angie Rowntree said. "This was by far the most challenging movie I've ever made, and while I was already proud of it before we were even done with post-production, the true validation came in how viewers have responded to it and all the great feedback we've received from fans, reviewers and our peers."
Praised by adult reviewer Rich Moreland as "perhaps the most significant porn film this reviewer has ever seen," Gone tells the tale of Rebecca and Todd Adams, a couple very much in love but destined for a sad parting, the pain of which propels Gone's story line with irresistible force. Played with great conviction and passion by real-life couple Madeline Blue and Gee Richards, Rebecca and Todd's story provides an unusually moving focal point for a pornographic film.
"Rebecca and Gee did such an amazing job, by the time we had wrapped shooting I couldn't even imagine having made this movie with anybody else," Rowntree said. "Especially when you consider this was Madeline's first performance, she really knocked it out of the park."
Further enhancing Rowntree's delight over the AVN nomination is the company Sssh finds itself nominated among a set of world-renowned adult studios: an unusual honor for a female-directed film aimed at a female audience. Gone's competition for Best Drama includes releases from Digital Playground, Wicked Pictures, Adam & Eve and Vivid Entertainment, among others.
“To be included in this list is a huge honor, all onto itself," Rowntree said.
